Green Design

Elements of green design are incorporated into every Blesso Properties project. We have adopted product selection criteria from guidelines produced by Building Green, Inc.

Salvage, Recycle, Reclaim

We salvage architectural pieces from our projects and install them back in the property or save them for future renovations. We also use reclaimed wood and products that include post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content.

Conserve Natural Resources

Blesso Properties builds with FSC certified wood, fully recyclable products, and durable goods that reduce material use. We use rapidly renewable resources that don't lead to deforestation or loss of virgin forests.

Avoid Toxic Emissions

We seek out natural products made with minimal processing and alternatives to ozone-depleting substances and hazardous products such as high V.O.C. emitters. Our products reduce air and storm water pollution from construction, demolition, operations, and pesticide treatments.

Save Energy and Water

We design our properties around components that conserve water and energy and reduce heating and cooling loads. We take advantage of locally grown or produced products whenever possible to avoid the environmental cost of shiping.

Create a Healthy Indoor Environment

Blesso Properties avoids products that introduce contaminants or pollutants to the building. Our novel design concepts improve light quality, control noise, and enhance community well-being.
